At 13:37 hours on Monday, November 24, Local box 21-13 was dispatched for an investigation of smoke in the 1300 Block of Burke Rd. The caller was calling from across Galloway Creek in the 1100 Block of Burke Rd. and could see "Whitish/Gray Smoke in the Area.

Engine Company 211  with a crew of 5 Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Firefighters arrived to find smoke issuing from roof vents and the eaves of a 2 story (post isabel) wood frame single family dwelling. The Officer of E211 requested Fire Dispatch to "Fill The Box", and established "Command" as the crew advanced an attack line. The crew performed horizontal ventilation and forcible entry and initiated an interior attack on the fire on the 1st floor. A primary search of the structure was negative for occupants, but sadly the family pet was located and efforts to revive were not successful.

Second arriving Engine Co 54 was assigned fire attack on the 2nd floor with the officer designated as "Division Two".

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Baltimore County Fire Investigation Division.
